Media Alert : NISA Semifinal No. 1 a Rematch of 2022 Title Tie

Published Nov 4, 2023

CHICAGO (November 4, 2023) –

WHAT:    The 2023 National Independent Soccer Association playoffs continue with a semi-final match-up that is a win-or-go-home re-match of the 2022 championship. Defending champion Michigan Stars FC hosts ALBION San Diego almost a year to the day removed from last year’s 1-0 result. The winning moment in that match came at the 30-minute mark when an Anthony Bowie header found the back of the net.

ALBION has held the cards this season with a 1-2-0 mark against MSFC. After a 1-1 draw in Orange County on June 24., ALBION stole a 0-1 road win on July 18. The last match also was a draw in California with each side scoring twice. Seven different players have scored in the series this year.

Neither club has dropped a match in its last five, with ALBION’s streak hitting six after its quarterfinal win over Maryland Bobcats FC on penalties – 0-0 (8-7).

WHO:    #2 Michigan Stars FC vs. #4 ALBION San Diego
Saturday, November 4, 3:30 p.m. ET
Romeo Stadium, Washington, Mich.
